Sustainability at Vepa Bins

At Vepa Bins, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We are committed to reducing our ecological footprint and constantly strive to make our processes and products as environmentally friendly as possible.

Our production takes place in factories that are BSCI/BEPI certified. When collaborating with manufacturers and suppliers, we continuously evaluate the extent to which products and packaging are made through sustainable production processes using recycled or sustainable materials. This enables us to minimize the ecological footprint of our products while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Since 2024, we have been reporting according to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) guidelines, a European standard for sustainability reporting. This allows us to communicate transparently and accurately about our goals and the progress we are making in the area of sustainability.

In recent years, Vepa Bins has made significant strides in improving energy efficiency. In addition to implementing energy-saving measures, such as solar panels and sensor-controlled LED lighting, we acquired three electric trucks in 2024. This marks our first step toward emissions-free transportation.

Our goal is to make at least 50% of our fleet emission-free by 2030, with these vehicles powered by self-generated and stored energy. Additionally, we collaborate with transport partners who pursue similar sustainability objectives. This approach reduces our dependency on fossil fuels across our entire chain, contributing to a cleaner future.

We are also making significant strides in heating. We are investigating options to replace our current warehouse heating with heat pumps and are exploring the use of biogas from a future biogas plant at our site. These initiatives help us make our heating systems more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Waste management and reduction are daily priorities at Vepa Bins. Clean cardboard is machine-perforated and serves as packing material for crates at Braspa Professional, among other uses. We also use reusable deposit crates, a sustainable choice. Within our logistics chain, we sort and recycle various waste streams and work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to make packaging more sustainable and efficient. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce waste by developing better packaging options.
